CONGRATS to the ‘Rati scribes for kicking pages and taking ink!

However… I think the Special Services Award list blows – no disrespect to the names on there, but where is David Montgomery???

He has done more for putting our little crime community out there to the mainstream population than any of the other names. Yes, they’ve all worked hard, but all those names cater to the already existing crime writing fan. Montgomery’s reviews – which are hands down the best in the biz – are in major newspapers all over the country – not just the internet – and he exposes our authors to more people that might not walk into a mystery bookstore or go to a mystery blog.

Again, huge congrats to Simon, Naomi, and X!

What a line up! Congratulations to all the nominees, but special hugs to Naomi, Simon and Alex.

And isn’t that a grand list of book nominated for Best Novel? I don’t think I’ve ever agreed more strongly with an awards list.

And may I add my congrats as well to Alex & Naomi! Well done, ladies! But then – I’m not surprised. Cream always rises to the top.

And once again – Guyot read my mind – or is it that great minds DO think alike? šŸ™‚ Dave Montgomery has been and remains to be one of the major forces in our world of Mysteryville. And while I applaud ALL the nominees for their great contributions – I was surprised not to see Dave included. He consisently offers unbiased reviews and is a champion of new writers who might not otherwise be noticed in the major newspapers…and I know this first hand. Whatever measure of success I’ve been fortunate to enjoy – much of the blame goes to Dave Montgomery.

Maybe a new and singlular award should be born for special services- how about it Guyot? Shall we do it? šŸ™‚

Thanks a million, all, and big hugs to Naomi and Simon. Thrilled for both of you!!

I so agree about the Best Novel list, Louise – I am staggered to be on the same page as those names/books.

Alex, who is still dazedly running into furniture here.

Ah, guyot has emerged from the murky depths. And Evil E follows. Thanks to all!!!

And regarding Montgomery, he is indeed an institution. I hope to meet him someday–I’m sure I’ve unwittingly walked past his parents at our local Trader Joe’s!
